Glasgow City are delighted to announce that former Captain Rachel Corsie will be re-joining the club on loan from Seattle Reign.
The Scotland international defender left at the start of 2014 after 5.5 years with the club and had a season with English side Notts County in the FA Super League before moving to US giants Seattle Reign for the 2015 season.
A pivotal player for many years for City, Corsie's good form continued after her departure from the club. A terrific season ensued with Notts in 2014 with Rachel being named Fans Player of the Year. She then earned a move to the NWSL (US Professional League) and has been a mainstay of the Seattle team which has dominated in the US for the whole season, finishing 10 points ahead of nearest challengers Chicago Red Stars before the play-off finals.
Commenting on her decision to come back on loan, Corsie said, "I am really looking forward to joining back up with Glasgow City again. It is a club I have great admiration for and I hope that I can help them in achieving more success in the final part of their season.
"I very much look forward to working with Scott and the rest of the current staff and players."
City Head Coach Scott Booth welcomed her arrival, saying " I am delighted that Rachel has decided to join Glasgow City for the remainder of the season. Bringing in a player of her experience and quality underlines the ambition of this club. She will strengthen our squad at a very important point in the season and I'm looking forward to welcoming her back to the club."
Rachel will join up with City once her season finishes with Seattle Reign and the move will be subject to international clearance.
