Scotland women’s manager Anna Signeul provided an update on Glasgow City midfielder, Hayley Lauder’s current injury status.
The 27-year-old has been declared not fit for Wednesday’s match against England, much to the disappointment of the Scotland camp.
However, things do not seem as serious as initially thought.
Signeul explained: “Hayley is doing quite well actually. She will miss the game against England but from looking quite bad against Ireland it’s now looking great.”
Lauder suffered a minor hamstring tear as a recent scan on July 10th confirmed. However, the Scottish camp hoped she would have been fit for the opening match against England.
Signeul added: “Maybe she will be fit for our second game. It’s touch and go.”
The midfielder attained the injury on international duty; coming off early in Scotland’s 1-0 victory over Republic of Ireland on the 7th July 2017.
Lauder featured for Scotland in all eight qualifying matches, contributing one goal in the 10-0 win over Macedonia.
Glasgow City players Lee Alexander, Leanne Crichton, Joanne Love and Leanne Ross could all feature for Scotland in their opening fixture against England.
